Good for you. When my so called father passed she made sure she got everything.

Yes well, I suppose they may have thought it was yours by marriage. I like the idea though it makes for harmonious or neutral feelings. I know you have had your share of aggro in the past. Families split up over stupid little posessions as you probably know. Good thinking.

They should definitely have the painting, I feel. I am sure one can find the space in a house for it.

Yep, I agree with Pat_B, Gypsy, and Goldiec...no breaking up the herd.
As for that wolf picture, I bet that it is beautiful.

That soup sounds perfect for a cold Fall evening.
My hubby loves chicken noodle and hamburger vegetable soup while my favorite is creamy crab or potato soup.

Kabu, you are such a kind and loving person! To spend time thinking of others is a quality that is priceless. I've never seen a collection like you have. It sounds wonderful. I know your soup will be delicious. It's so nice to have extras to freeze. On a day when you don't feel like cooking it will be perfect.

Those elephants probably have herd immunity and are extra valuable! :) Seriously, your post tells of your kind heart and shows how caring you are, even in this difficult time. Enjoy your soup, too. Sounds good.

It is true that we all accumulate our own mementos and souvenirs as
we go through life - precious stuff we can't part with that is junk to anyone else. The soup sounds wonderful for supper on a chilly evening. As for the elephants, I can understand why one wouldn't want to break up the herd - they are very family-oriented and would miss one another.
