The old chap opposite me must have spent a fortune on standard roses. They are lovely if one can keep them pruned and disease free. Most have gone now and he planted bush roses, not a good idea in the same ground, but some are doing alright.

Thank you , have you ever seen the Peace Rose. At the beginning of WW2 roots I assume were sent to USA. A precaution lest they were destroyed.
