Animals are always different when one is a child. I know you must have really enjoyed looking after your favorites. It was rather hard times, but looking back one realizes that it was peaceful.

I spent one school year on a farm when I was 13.
It was a dairy farm, pregnant cows were pastured on a hilly, wooded area separate from the milking herd and the old bull. Some Holstein mothers would hide their calves the way a deer does, and the farmer would have to search for it in order to bring them back down to the pasture.

You grandchildren will have a treasure, and their grandchildren as well. You cared for the animals so well. I wonder if that caring is a part of what enticed you to go into Nursing?

I would love to have a goat...not sure about a pig though

I grew up in a farming town...
I always envied the farm kids. They were the one's who never got into trouble because they were kept busy, and they wore the boots.
