I guess it's a good thing to be a hermit these days...

Big V...You're on top of it! I am now in my isolation mode....Everything is ordered from Amazon....almost always there the next day. (One of their largest distribution centers is across the Ohio River from Louisville.)

Re:
Most of the time, I drive over to Sault Ste. Marie, about 75 minutes from here. There are two 'dollar stores' here and two grocery stores, including one of the very last IGA stores in the state. When I know that I need supplies and things just ain't working out right, I use Amazon to deliver all kinds of food stuffs, right down to my Diet Coke.
About the only thing I can't get via Amazon/UPS when I have to do it that way, is meat and real milk. I grew up on a farm and that blue cap/pink cap/green cap stuff ain't milk - it's glorified chalk water.
I normally buy $325 worth of groceries at one time, enough for a month... plus another five to seven days should I have to wait or if I have unexpected company. I have two big deep freezers in the garage to hold it all.
I can buy these at several places locally, but if in need of easy to prep food, I buy either a few of these or these. I can cook them in my oven should I need to do so. I have this place set up to keep me warm and heat my water, all without electricity. I have an emergency 6000 watt generator in my garage should I need to produce my own power, but as long as the village has water flowing, I can get water, hot when I want it to be that way. I also have over 90 gallons of water in 2.5 gallon jugs... just in case. I have four sets of metal plates/bowls/cups/serving tools/ and coffee pot to use.
Contrary to popular opinion (my standing joke) my dad didn't raise an idiot. Seven times in the winter of 2018/2019, I opened my house to those who had lost power and needed either a place to bathe, cook, or even stay over. This house is 2600+ square feet over three floors. This winter, 2019/2020, I only had three times where I opened my doors to my neighbors and area citizens. Three local shelters have my name, email addy, and or cell phone number should they have a family in immediate need. They've called me about a dozen times since I've made them aware I would help.
Just my way of interpreting Matthew 25:40 and acting on the "Things My Father Taught Me."

How do you get your toilet paper and needed food items? We used to have a writer on Blogit that lived way up in Canada as a young fellow and delivered groceries and necessary items to Eskimo families by dog sled. I loved his stories of that. I wish he had left them here when he left.
