What a great post, and so funny! I speak softly and many can’t hear me well. On the other hand, my girls speak at a decibel level all can hear so this really hit home.

a lovely bog and I do appreciate the end. While I was reading this Wiley annoyed me with his usual way of asking for something. " I don't suppose you need another glass of water." Why doesn't he just ask straight out I grumbled to myself as i walked to the kitchen to fill his glass.
Then I read your post and came close to tears. God moves in mysterious ways to sooth our nerves and help us to carry on.

For a thesbian, for a writer and lover of words, our Charlie does not articulate when he speaks... Slurs words together as if there are no breaks between them, like Roman writing. It can be harder to understand than a 'text' afflicted by autocorrect!

Priceless story! I really am a bit hard of hearing, wear "hear plugs"
