That's what I kind of had in mind. I haven't had Amazon 'price' anything for me that had a number of photos in it, but I did do a trial a year back with 'Johnny Goes North' using photo cartoons that I made myself. Initially Amazon made me price that story at $4.99. I just check and I see it is now at $1.99. I think that they are beginning to want people to do photo albums, and the Lord knows that I have a few million of them. Literally. There may only be 2-3,000 usable photos in there, but ya never know when you can play with a photo to use it for something else. If you look at my Twitter home page, you can see what I did with a self portrait photo.
I may string about forty ti fifty such abandoned home photos together with a soft soliloquy that binds them all together and see what happens.

I'm glad your longtime friend is going to get the recognition on the
trail plaques. I think your project on the abandoned home sites will be very interesting, and maybe a bit sad. Would be cool if you could get family names and find out about the folks who built the places - but I have no idea how you'd go about that, beyond checking tax records or the county clerks' offices.
