Well you could put a bit of fertlizer around the lilac,but I wonder if it was the constant water logging . I keep trying to chop them up as silly old Uncle Sparrow says it is unlucky too take its flower into the house. Mine are only dwarf ones I do keep a couple because I like them.I have to call him uncle because of Prince Archie.

Don't you find it amazing that the Monarchs fly all the way down to Mexico and Central America....how do they do it?

How beautifully you paint a picture of summertime. Such a lovely season. Our bees are now all hybrids - honey bees mixed with killer bees! The butterflies are always such a treat.

Love the dark Lilacs - maybe I was a monarch butterfly in a past life.
You're right about the bees. I think they can sense a friendly human, especially if that human doesn't start flapping their arms and going hysterical when the bees are nearby. They certainly know we're not their cuppa tea when it comes to food.
