Re:

While I believe that the hospital will share some of the blame here, this was almost 100% physician error. Most people wouldn't have known that a mistake had been made, but I worked surgery for six months to fill in for someone who had been injured in a car accident. They had enough ER nurses to cover the ER, but they were 'surgery nurse poor.' I liked surgery, but I loved the ER. It didn't take much to realize what had been done wrong if you understood the procedure.

It's like looking at flowers. Most of them are just beautiful. Some of them will kill you. A trained eye knows the difference. I was looking at what happened in surgery that day, and I knew right away what he had done wrong.

God love surgeons. I have immense respect for them. It takes a special talent and steady hands to do what they do. If this guy had just told me what had happened, it would have still hurt me, but I would have accepted it. When he told me something that my eyes told me was totally false, it angered me.

Thank you. We were together for almost 47 years and married for 44 years.

As I do my yearly re-write of 'her story,' I'll be posting it here again very soon. I like to go back after a year and make sure that everything still looks right to me. I just sold my next to last paperback copy I keep with me, so I want to do the re-write before ordering new copies.

I am so glad that I read all your books and got the background on what you're talking about.  Was the hospital also a part of the lawsuit?  I hope so.  Please let justice be served.

God Bless you, I have felt some of that pain, too......

Since I'm a new follower of your blog, the story about the loss of

your wife is new - I can feel in the few words you've used here a world of hurt. I'm sorry for your loss and the grief - I hope this result brings a bit of balance and some peace of mind.

BigV - Good news!

Lady Justice reigns supreme! That's the least they could do for you. I'm very, very happy to hear this. You have been through a lot and no one should have gone through what you did. I'm glad you had the "goods" on them. I know of cases where the lawyers were bought off, and where a mere $10,000 was given in court as an award for a malpractice case that involved the loss of a baby, and the near loss of the mother (not me). I'm glad this time, for once, someone will pay! You have paid dearly already.
