It does seem like a lot of religions use fear. My dad and I discuss purgatory. I believe it exists while he does not. My belief is that heaven and hell are too black and white and that most people while good have some flaws that need to be worked on before entering the pearly gates.

Beautiful comments to you and Wiley, dear. He is like an angel on Earth. And what a wonderful idea he has for you! It not what you've done or failed to do in life, it's how you finish, whenever into the far future that may be.

All the love that Wiley sends into the world, he is doing the work of the Divine! That he may have been an imperfect channel from time to time, that's what it is to be human, after all, and beloved by God.

KAbu....just saw the news Conservatives take over the government...due to global warming issues was threatening to shut down the mining in Australia.......
Australia’s conservative government eked out a surprise victory in Saturday’s national elections after voters in resource-rich districts turned against center-left opponents who had put climate change at the heart of their campaign.

Excellent comment, Pat. For me, Christianity is built on love and compassion, not fear...

Tell Wiley he doesn't have to fear hellfire because he's got
Joseph, Mary and Jesus on his side - and if the Son's sacrifice counts for anything, then the Heavenly Father is going to welcome him - in good time - and set him in a place of honor (just in case he doesn't believe his own good works will get him anywhere). And maybe he's right about it being time for you to write a bit of your own skew ball take on religious matters - if you can make us laugh, it might be a best seller.
