This is the best thing, I am glad you are doing it! And there is always my guest room here, if you wanted to come to Colorado--before April 1st! After that, you'd have the house to yourself! And Embers, of course.

Thanks for letting us know you'll be away for a bit. I'm wishing Wiley all the best while he's at the facility.

It is a tough one, but what else can you do. It seems most folk on here have been affected by this problem. It is as bad for the carer as it is for the patient. Sadly there is not much option. Take care.

It's only for two weeks. And you'll see him often.
You deserve a little respite. (all that stuff you know in your head but don't feel in your heart) And then he'll be back at Camelot and spring will be greening...

Kabu
I hope it all goes well. I remember my mother being ill for years, and at one point she had to go into a nursing home for a few months, and she was angry. It's all so very difficult but yet, I think of my sister, who is a caretaker for a relative, and there is no respite for her - usually, and it's needed. She has nursing background also, and is able to administer the IV antibiotics, and do so many other things. From her I know how much you do, plus you are running the household. Please give Wiley my best, along with hugs to you, dear. Take this time now for you, and you will be better able to care for Wiley, and for you, afterward.

I will never forget that admitting my Dad to a Nursing Care Facility was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I left him there and sat in my car crying for the longest time waiting to see if they were going to call me back. It had to be done because my mom did not understand what was happening to him and she was giving up on life. After that my Sis moved in with Mom and focused on caring for her and I spent a lot of time seeing that Dad was cared for properly. That was a long time ago now but I'll never forget what it was like.

I expect that's not gonna be an easy task. I have to say you're one strong lady! How big is your cell? You can do Blogit on the phone...or do you have a small pad 5 x 8 inches...it's really easy on a pad when you're someplace that has internet access...
