Kabu, dear S. Sister
Thank you for a peek into your life on Christmases past and present. It sounds like you've made some delightful memories of Christmas for your family and had wonderful meals to celebrate those times that are special. Now if only Mr. G could find his feather... A really great post.

con'td from the prev. attempt.
maybe 9:30 or ten a.m. until noonish is easier to manage than a full-blown holiday with gifts to open, a meal to organize and everyone at the table. Been there for both kinds of gatherings, and appreciate low-stress very much these days. Good luck pleasing Mr. G. until he finds his feather toy... LOL

What a great post. I did so many big hostessings and big feeds on Christmas Days that now I spend my pre-Christmastime hoping no one comes to see me or wants me to come see them. I would rather just see them on regular days when nothing else is going on, and spend my Christmas Day in my own way.

A lot of families go through that when the kids get older and get married. They start new Christmas traditions. It can be unsettling for a time.

It is a bit of a wall to get over, but there is something about simple time with one's self, without expectations to meet, disappointments to fear, work work work--and possibly everything one prepares, one will have to clean up after, too.
