Sigh. I don't disagree with you and the only thing that we could possibly argue about is which people and what for. Actually being a life long international traveller, I am sort of used to being tracked. No not microchipped to my knowledge but who knows if my luggage was ever microchipped or if people kept an eye on me for drug smuggling or whatever when I was younger.  If someone has trouble with my being a Christian, well I decided years ago that if they don't torture me I will never deny my faith but then words are only words anyway. LOL.  If some off side Christians sect want to torture me to believe as they do the same thing counts. BTW in my travels the USA is the only country who ever fingerprinted me once when I crossed the border!.

Re: Re:

Well...on the surveillance thingy.....that is true now. But as the ability to track everything becomes more enhanced, what happens when we're tracked based on not just our actions......but our beliefs?

In our major cities, they can already track with the cameras, and now as an offer of convenience, you can get a special tag that saves you time on a tollroad.   It can be tracked for other purposes.

Is that not a logical option for those who want to make sure they maintain the power?

Some statists are now advocating the need to insert  micro chips under our skin....they're pushing it under "you must protect your children".  What you do, where you go, is only your business.

I know it sounds far-fetched....but just google "Microchips under the skin" and look at the number of companies offering their services.

Sorry to bore you with this....but there are people out there that want to control what we do....

Re:

love I am not against border control....how else can we keep you South of us out of Canada.....(Joke darling)...No there unfortunately has to be some order and controls and of course every society has its share of fanatics and evil. Perhaps the trouble is that with so much national and international interaction available for us all day every day one lives in a sense of doom. I mean I read about surveillance any and every where and I get alarmed but actually, if I am not doing anything wrong, then what does it matter???

There are a lot of problems in the world today. I hope that the world can improve itself. Mankind is dependent on it.

Kabu...you have every right to express your concerns.  Wouldn't the world be very boring if we all lived like those in China.   Frankly I think it's important to have many differing beliefs.

I listened to my Mom and Dad say the same things you have said.......our world is always involved in an evolving process......we just need to be sure the evolution doesn't  wipe out our lifestyles.  That those wanting to abolish the rules, laws and borders, not  be allowed to  "devolve" our great nation.

The World is what it is and nothing in it is separated from GOD

One of my stepfathers (yes, Mom was a busy lady) told me that religion was a necessary fairytale; he was not religious himself. He said it was needed to teach people to be kind to one another, to do onto others..., etc. and that without those beliefs people would not have a reason to think of anyone else but themselves. Then there would be chaos. Not many children are raised with religion today - it seems to have disappeared with our generation.

thank you dear friend. I was half inclined to take it down but you inspire me always.

It seems to me the world is a more hostile place than it used to be,

even two years ago. Civility seems to have been left behind, and insulting people who disagree with us has become standard operating procedure. I blame a lot of it on the reality show in Washington, D.C. I don't think us versus them is a good way to bring peace or harmony into any situation, and of course I think we should be building bridges, not walls.  IMHO your post is right on target, Kabu. Maybe this atmosphere is why there's an uptick in mass shootings and riots all over the world.
