If you are not used to the jargon and style that physicians and surgeons use, I can see where it could be very frightening. They are taught to be very blunt and factual, without a bit of conjecture. I ask my doctors to speak to me with as much medical jargon as possible. I prefer to know the truth, unfiltered by the translation. My wife was a nurse for 43-44 years, but she preferred the layman version. If you are getting info in strict medical language, ask them to change it.
A small joke. In the medical field, "Shortness of Breath" is written as "SOB." In my capacity as a medic, I wrote in my notes that a particular male patient was "SOB" upon our arrival. He came to our ambulance base and demanded to know why I was calling him a bad name. He told me that he had been a bit terse, but he was NOT a SOB.

I did notice in our paper today Big V. that a suggestion had risen. Doctors send patients letters which in purely clinical terms can be rather frightening. It was suggested that the doctors should learn how to communicate with the layman.

There was a study done and they found that for some reason, people who had people praying for them did better than those who did not have people praying for them. Hmm? Wishing you all the best.
