They really did live a tough life. Thanks for bringing to our attention a group of people that most do not realize are a part of history.

Perhaps today the rules have changed somewhat, I re4member my Mum saying (we called them tramps of course.) That she use to see tramps quite regularly, but she never felt afraid ot them.

Kabu
It was great to learn of this. It could be made into a wonderful book for children also, perhaps. Thank you.

Re:
Don't you think Kabu would be fantastic to listen to....what a way to learn about a great country that we currently know very little about!

I would have interviewed you for a history term paper. The professor encouraged asking people who lived history.

Great post. I remember a few hobos coming by our place when I was little. I'm not sure what mom gave them to do, but she always fed them.

We used to have itinerant travelers right after WWII as well, I remember
Mom giving them fried egg sandwiches and a cup of coffee - and after they'd moved on, she'd go out and check the fence posts and telephone pole for marks they'd made to let other hobos know the lady of the house was kind hearted.

Thank you so much for sharing......I found it fascinating. I am working hard at being able to go in the next year and a half to both Australia and New Zealand.
