Thank you for a fun post and I remember that song, but Googled it. Wow! How interesting it is! And I do so love your gnomes. I have a photo for you for them if you want it. Looks like a place they might visit! I'll post it soon.

Like Taps, we also learned "Waltzing Matilda" in school. Your post
here brought back the melody to mind. I've always thought Australia was so interesting, and when I had exploring in mind, the outback was one place I wanted to see. My Uncle George brought back an Aussie bride from WWII when he was stationed there - a lovely woman named Goldie. She's the one who kept so many of the yellow lined pads that Grandma Lucy filled with her stories, and I was able to make a photocopy of a few pages. Thank you for bringing back such lovely memories.

RE Taps
I had to sing the words to myself a lot so I could write it down. Dangged if I was going to google them. LOL. BTW when I talk to Wiley about you, he always gets such a sweet big wide grin.

You have me singing the song. When I was in 7th grade school, I had a teacher (Miss Dooley) who used a pitchpipe to help get us started on key and she taught us songs from countries around the world. My favorites were "Waltzing Matilda" and one I can't now remember. LOL
