A good job Dad was not tempted to take on the losing business, one never knows what problems it might have hidden.

This was sure an interesting post. I like the idea of the little guy somehow coming out in top. However, with Big Oil that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. Especially with icons. Dad thankfully has some control and a good business sense.

Loyalty I hope still means something important in business. I believe the oil company know that Dad is a great business masn as are you.

In the early '70s I worked for a freight hauler specializing in gasoline,
anhydrous ammonia and propane. We hauled to service stations all over Illinois, the anhydrous is a fertilizer - so I was toting up freight bills and sending out invoices to business in large and small towns, even rural addresses all over the state. Many of our drivers were lease operators and owned their own rigs. Your post today reminded me of those days. I think not being in business with big oil is a good idea.
