Touch is an extremely important part of the human condition. I remember somewhere about a massage therapist who would massage terminally ill people. They could not feel pain, but they would get so excited about the massage.

Well when I cuddle old ladies they slap me, of course I would not make a good nurse.

Everyone likes a bit of affection even the cat which follows me around at times.

Those Rebecka last and last in the garden ,but not much good as a cut flower they do not seem to hack it for long. I did pick a bucketful of Sweet Williams today. They did not bloom much in the spring. Ever tried them for a second year. Was rejected on GMail it would not go through from this side. Hope that you are keeping your chin up.

And I'm sure you agree that it's coming from both sides of the issue?

Callow kids need to learn the power of kindness, and it's up to those of us mature enough to know, to teach it when we can.

There was a discussion of that Australian politician's remarks: He claimed he didn't know the origin of that expression. So he is either lying or irresponsibly ignorant of recent history. Either way, no excuse whatsoever.

You are so right about the need for human contact by the

singular elderly. Nothing makes a day go better than an appropriate hug. The nurse who got your training is no doubt enjoying a much higher healing rate among her patients. Brilliant!  As for the "final solution" for migrants, my Grandma Lucy and any real human would be horrified. If you remember the Old Testament story of Sodom and Gomorhha (sp?) the fire rained down because the people were inhospitable to strangers (migrants?) at their gates. Grandma almost always set an extra place at the table for the unknown stranger.

Kabu

What a fine nurse you are, and an excellent mentor/educator also. And you are right, the human touch is so important. And your beautiful garden flowers are so much nicer than politicians' words. Have a beautiful afternoon, dear S. Sister.
