What a pleasant post to read of outsmarting the chipmunks and of your wren being friends with you. Towhee is like that here, but he doesn't attach himself to the screen. Just hops around to visit. I hope you don't have too much of a storm there. Also, I'm sorry to hear Wiley is having difficulty walking today. You are an angel.

It does take a long time to get the trust of wild creatures, although one cannot blame them.I now have three hedgehogs they come each evening one I rescued last Autumn as it was running along side a busy road. They like cat food and sardines, I don't think they will keep many slugs down unless I could coat the slugs with cod-liver oil.

How sweet to be a wren's pet! What does he do in the winter?

It makes me happy to read about your guardian wren. I do believe
some creatures recognize humans who are harmless or friendly toward them.
