Well it does seem a fair reason for growing them Pat. Of course we like the multiheaded for cut flowers. I expect the birds would cotton on eventually.

They are quite popular as cut flowers, but tend to become unstable as we get a lot of wind.

Had short ones, medium height ones, tall ones, multi stemmed ones, colors other than yellow, and very high ones sir.

Sunflowers in my neighbor Walter's garden grew to 9 feet tall
with heads two + feet across - he planted where they could lean against the fence and lived to be 101 years old. I hope our dear friend CC and his lovely friends will find great success with sunflowers and canes and such...
