Re:
Of course they have to get moisture from somewhere. We were wondering only today how small nesting birds get a drink, perhaps in there beaks if they an find a suitable watering hole . I did put half a melon out and some birds were scooping it up. Trouble with bird baths is they soon get contaminated, some dirty rascals poop in the water ,one should replace it daily if possible. Don't know about bees perhaps you could examine the drinking place occasionally. A pity you have not got a few geese to keep the grass down.

In this photo, the peoni bush is just perfect. Let us know if the bees use the marble container.

It is parched and dry here in Texas. The other day, I was watering the yard with the hose, and a bee came and landed on a wet border rock to take a sip. I gave him a little sprinkle and he seemed to enjoy it. So he got a drink and a shower at the same time! Your flowers are very beautiful. Cheers

Like Corbin, I had never heard of bees getting a drink of water. What a great idea you had! And such beautiful peonies also. Actually, your entire yard is just charmed. Very beautiful and relaxing to see.

Re: yes corban that is the idea they stand on the marbles and drink
I guess small pebbles would work just as well.

I'd never heard of putting marbles in a bowl, or even setting up a
watering spot for bees. I just assumed they drank from flowers or got dew off the grass. Your peony is gorgeous. My grandma Lucy used to have one like that in her yard that bloomed every summer. Lovely.

This may sound dumb.....but does the water barely cover the marbles so the bees can stand on them.......
