The simple question is "Do you like her? Like, like her?" Baby steps, allow yourself that. Give yourself permission to see how it goes with short visits. I have a half-cousin who is 82 and got re-married two years ago because they "had feelings" for each other. Everyone is different.

Well it sounds OK. I suppose it depends on what you want or what she will want.
She may look upon you as a rather romantic figure. Does she know you? Are you going to compare her to your rather special memories. Probably if you are making plans in your mind it would be better to stay with her at her own home for a couple of weeks,or take a holiday with her separate rooms etc. You do not want to ruin the life she has,or regret the one you may be making. This does seem a bit harsh, but I am trying in a way to protect you both. If you both click I wish you both happiness.

Always put you toe in to test the water first...before you jump right in. Joe Love died 7 years ago....his family adopted me as a part of their family. Luckily, I too had dogs (6) and are now down to 3. They are my family, I talk to them and the good part is they don't talk back.
I am 70, and in the same boat, I average walking 2.4 miles a day (according to my Fitbit) Joe's family has kept the void full with their attention and interaction.. without that, I would probably have gone crazy......
