People spend time and energy doing pointless things when they don't feel that they have the power to make any difference.
Suddenly, that has changed! They--and we--are realizing the power we do have as voices and as voters, and as marchers with signs waving in the faces of those who told us we had nothing to offer.
And just look at how they have energized so many of us who had just kinda given up...!

A soap box is not a bad thing to have handy. Some use them sparingly, some too often, some not at all. Like anything else the effectiveness is in the person who uses it. You did good. Now you need to run for office.

First Kabu....I appreciate your interest in activities going on....and it's great that you are watching what is happening. But there's a lot of thing involved with these marches..So I'm going to respond in a post instead of here. We all have differing views on most things in life....God Bless

Don't get down off that soap box. Let's just paint it red, white & blue,
and take up a collection to make sure all these super motivated, eloquent and well-informed kids from several different schools - get to college and major in political science! Anything Emma Gonzalez runs for, I'm voting for her... Six minutes 20 seconds of silence, tears running down her face. I've never seen anything like it - and the crowd was so into it, so respectful. Wow!
