I thought it terrible when I first heard lobsters are boiled alive.  I never ate lobster.  Every year Mom would buy a flat box of chicks which we would raise for fried chicken.  We always used an axe and cut the chicken's head off.  One time a brother wrung the head off.  I thought that terrible.  Either way, the chicken would run around eratic this way and that for awhile before collapsing.  We plucked the feathers and Mo0m cleaned the insides out and we had fried chicken--liver and a couple of other organs included.

There are so many things that are not really nice. When we become more civilized I expect all things will change give or take a few generations. I don't really like setting mouse traps but I like to position them so the mouse does not caught by a leg and is dispatched to mouse Heaven instantly.

I wonder if Maryland is going to ban the steaming of crabs.

Good Grief.  Makes me think of my dad wringing the neck on our chickens when I was a kid.  The head would come of in his hand and the rest of the chicken would flop all over the chicken yard.  I hated that, but I ate the fried chicken.
