Hard times and sad times. Reminds me of story of my grandfather who sailed to Canada when he was 19 to work on a ranch. He maried a women who died giving birth to Harry and had to come back to the UK, finding a new wife, my grandmother. Your Gram was clearly very special to you.

I love reading about your homeland.....we all develop a perception in our minds when thinking of far away places......I need to see a show on the BBC about Australia, because in my mind I see it as a vast wasteland like Mel Gibson portrayed Mad Max in the movies....

Shame we cannot stay young looking forever and then just go up in smoke. Time heals all the features are there . Folk soon forget or lose interest in others,all families have their secrets.Hope you are OK.
