We certainly were poor, CCT... we didn't have a TV till I was five, and we never had a fridge, just the cold slab in the larder. I don't remember when we got one (the fridge), it was not something we were used to. Happy days!

Most folk were poor when your Mum was a girl, you may not have been but I rememember when my Mum had a fridge instead of a tele. We kids did not blink an eyelid. It is always at the back of ones mind ,'can I afford it?.' I think it is best not to say how much anything costs if possible. It is laughable really once as a boy i worked on a travelling shop if a woman spent £1 Crikey she was a good customer.

dddo let us know how the bank thing goes with your Mother. Our Wiley here is hooked into his bank every day with a new problem. I am sure it is what he is doing ...giving one of your sighs. Also enjoy that get away with the beloved.
