100% agree. As a paramedic, we developed what we called an "IPS" or 'Initial Patient Survey.' As you come on to a scene and find someone just 'laying there,' look around to make sure they haven't stepped on a downed wire or some other problem. The military calls it 'situational awareness,' or "know where you are!" Being prepared as you wrote about insures not only your safety, but the safety of others.
