Re: overtherainbow
Yeah, but I thought I'd covered my bases by clearing all the clutter out... Hah! Didn't quite finish, I guess...

Re: Kabu, dear
I, too, have stopped buing stuff that is non-essential and had down-sized when we moved. Thought I had done a good job. The blue glasses, well, they are kinda shot, though...and I should dump 'em.

Re: CCT
Yes, there was a time one could find treasures easily. With the price of copper here, some have resorted to stealing copper wire to sell...

Re: FSI
I call it object blindness. We sometimes stop seeing things we look at every day.

Re: Pat - you really made me smile...
Right on, Pat! No, my table setting, or table scapes, as they call them on TV, might make it into a ceterfold for Plain Jane Mag... lol

Once not so many decades ago well a few more than I like to count antiques were all the vogue here. In my wisdom of fortelling the future I bought 6 copper kettles they were about £5 each a heirloom indeed. Of course now the are not even wanted as folk do not want to polish copper or brass. I even offered them to the local museum just as ornaments to place on an old range. No one bothered to collect them. If the glasses a nice who cares.

What's so great about "new" when the old is still functional?
It's not old, it's traditional. Unless, of course, you're planning to put your table setting into a centerfold photo shoot for Overdecorated Magazine....

Now that you mention it, I still have wedding gift things and I've been divorced for 30 years.

Re: Aba bro
I don't collect them either. Used to enjoy making that rare find! Now, it's comfortable, but uncluttered - mostly. Except for some books. lol.

Presta Sis
Naw, you did not get that old. I am extremely fond of antiques, but am not a collector.
