Re: Big V, so glad you enjoyed it...
My dad would visit his relatives every summer as a kid on their farm. I asked him if he wore jeans then, and he said no, that he did not! I asked him what he wore, and he answered me with, "Old clothes." Wonder what they thought of him! lol.

I love it. My early memories are from my days on the farm and those will fill my heart with warmth and my mind with good times gone past. Excellent memory! Thanks for sharing it.

Re: overtherainbow
So glad you enjoyed it, overtherainbow, and thank you! One is never too old to wear jeans, I'm with you on that one. If I can pull 'em up, I'm wearin' 'em! I still wish I had been allowed to wear jeans in high school... Grade school was ruled by uniforms; middle school (uhh, formerly known as junior high) and high school, no way - it was skirts only, and no minis. The girls' skirts would actually be measured as to how far above the knee they were! College, sure, anything went.

Happy, prosperous and a healthy new year, greetings, Presta dear sister
I can imagine my big sis as a small girl running free in high spirits with her favourite blue denims, happy and exhilarated, as if all through the year it was a New Year.

Yes, now denim is a clothing staple for this family also.

Re: Kabu
Yes, now there's an example where our environment shapes our behaviors, likes and preferences. My dad as a child would visit cousins who had a farm and he still never wore jeans, even there! I was shocked to hear that!

Re: CCT
How interesting. I had no idea. Thank you! Well, my parents said I was the better behaved child of the family; my sis and bro were truly rascals!

Re: Pat
Here girls had to wear skirts of a certain length when I was in high school. They changed the rule soon after. I seem to recall something about nylons or pantyhose...

LOL. That is very cute. Jeans are an ingrained part of my family's wardrobe. We are always pretty much wearing some some sort of denim.

never wear Jeans isn't it funny how our past can affect us. But had to wear jeans for working on the farm and somehow I still don't feel dressed if I was to wear jeans.

Well as little boys we all wore short trousers, but I could not wait to get long uns.
I think I was in the last two in the class, but I did wear overalls for work. You see RP clothes were on coupons, and work clothes were a priority. You were a little rascal.

I wear jeans most of the time. And I can remember when girls were
not allowed to wear jeans or other long pants to school, except when it was snowy and cold, and we had to change out of them in the girls' room before going to class. Thanks for this post.
