Ah, you reminded me of Nait. He had said he felt sad after the Summer Solstice cause the days were getting shorter. Dear S. Sister, we can do not a thing about it, but try to endure.

i almost feel sad that the winter has now turned past the shortest day. We have heavy snow laid down now for christmas so all the decorations are set.

I agree it is lovely to feel that spring is waiting to bring warmth back again,Our worst days seem to be after Christmas, so little reminders of forthcoming events are always appreciated.

Thank you. Yes, 'To all things there is a season...,' and Winter has it's time. It is refreshing, as you said. But I love the longer days, the light, the gentle warmth it brings.

I love winter, the cool, crisp air.  But the one thing about it i do not care much for are the long nights, so yea!
