Re: C_C_T

Harmful or not, I don't care for crickets. I imagine we all have things we don't care for in the insect realm.

I would have been mortified, too, to have been so up close to a little bugger.

The Cricket in the hearth. Rather unwelcome on your pillow. I can imagine.  . My sister use to go wild if she saw a spider, I don't think they are really harmful ,well not the one's here, although I was gardening once and one ran out of a heap of stones and bit my finger.Crickets, I think folk used to like to hear the strumming of their legs. Before Pop of course.

Re: dear bro

I do understand that intellectually, however, emotionally, I can't and won't ever like the things. Yes, talk about strange bedfellows...

Re: Kabu

Thank you, Kabu! Yes, thank you, after that I do indulge in my phobia of them a bit, along with my moth phobia, which seems to outweight the cricket one. lol.

Re: Pat

Pat, perhaps, had I met him elsewhere, but, no! I can't stomach the things... lol. And to wake up to one! Unimaginable! Yuck factor in play here...

Funny story because it was about you.  In the same situation, I would have been screeching also.

I think perhaps if you'd met the cricket outdoors instead of

finding him by surprise, you'd feel a bit better about his dozens of cousins - but I'm with you on this one - I don't want a six- or eight-legged friend on my pillow, thanks just the same.
