All good advice you've received so far, Sammy . . . .
What has worked for me, and I am relatively new, is that I write about things I am interested in, and found that others share that interest. Then I try to write things that I think they have not read and may enjoy. Much of what I write is new to me just before I write it into a blog. If it interests me, then I feel it will interest others with similar interests.
There are many bloggers who have more hits than I have, and they have found ways to write interesting headlines to grab people. Of those I have been "caught by," if their blog matches their headline in interest to me, they get placed on my favorites and I check their blogs whenever I see something new. If the headline caught me, but the blog didn't interest me, then they got the one hit, but no others in the future. In short, write to interest yourself, and there is bound to be a substantial group of people who share your interests.

More likely it's that your stuff isn't being SEEN
As of right now, what's showing on the front page are new blogs in the last 30 minutes. If you wrote a post an hour ago, only those who have ALREADY read you AND added you to their favorites, will know you will here.
Becky gave you good advice below. For more tips like those, click on my handle and check out my blog, Helpful Tips For The New & Clueless.

Increased Readership
Here are some suggestions that may help increase your blog's readership, which in turn helps improve rankings and earnings:
* Initially, add posts to a single blog, instead of creating multiple blogs. Readers will be more likely to remember your blog's name.
* Post frequently, at least once a day if possible. Recently updated blogs will appear on the home page under New Posts, and are also more likely to appear in Featured Blogs.
* Split long posts into several shorter ones. Many online readers prefer to read shorter posts.
* Read and comment on other writers' posts. Interested readers will click your nickname to read your blogs, and the blog's author may recommend your blog.
* When a post receives comments, it is likely that the topic appeals to readers. Consider writing on similar topics.
* To appeal to different groups of readers, write multiple blogs on different topics.
