Too bad we (humanity) can't send the rains that flood elsewhere to
put out the massive fires, balance out the natural disasters. If we can invent ways to send words out over the internet to anywhere in the world we ought to be able to find a way to channel the weather to our advantage. Or maybe that's not such a good idea...

I guess some wish that snow would fall on them. Fires are awful , the farmers here used to burn the straw a few years back and even that brought smudgy debris at times. It is really sad.

You sure did get some lovely snow. Yes, the fires are awful here. I hope your friends will be alright. A little rain would be nice. As I had said, the inside of our house smells like smoke, and it shouldn't. They are saying not to open up the windows or use the A/C, or us either gas or wood-burning fireplaces at night. Soooo....

At least two of my Cali friends have been told they should be moving out of the way. I couldn't even fathom the fear of an all consuming fire headed right at me.
I didn't think we had gotten that much snow, but I went out to start the car and found about seven inches of snow on the roof. Lovely!
