Re: C_C_T
He was almost a 4-pack a day guy for years before he quit, so he probably would have been going out anyway, but you are probablly right. LOL.

Re: SPat
Oh, what a lovely picture you paint for us of your mom's treats for you. My little sis was so fast, and she would sneak out and scoop up snow by the handful, then eat it, and she was still in diapers! Foreshadowing... lol. Me, I couldn't make it past the back door and Mom was right there.

In my opinion sis Presta, I'd have probably the same thing as your Dad did, to make things extra interesting.

Well you see RP. You were not big enough to go outside on your own, but your Daddy seeing your sad little face felt sorry for you and he wanted to get a packet of cigarettes so he took you with him.
PS . Vanilla once tasted so good, I think they must dilute it vigorously these days.

Speaking of snow, and ice cream...
After the first snow, which mother thought cleaned the air, we could scoop up some of the second snowfall in a big bowl. Mom stirred in a bit of vanilla and some of her coffee cream, and we dipped into it. Don't know if that would be safe these days, but then, in the mountains not far from the coast, it was a treat.
