Re: Aba
Thank you, Aba dear bro. I do appreciate you taking the time to read when you have such a busy schedule. What a horror story about Father Z! It does sound a bit twisted. A bit, heck, it sounds very twisted. A shame.

Hi there Presta sis, I read all your posts
Teacher behaving so awkwardly and in a fit of rage do sometimes leave a lesson for their students. In St Xavier's School where i studied, father Zubrikei, a German, beat up a boy for a similar kind of behaviour, and surprisingly later, whether it was remorse or something else, the boy became his favourite. He went on later to top the school in all his higher grades and said that the credit went to Father Z. I still don't know the mystery . . .

Re: Re: BC
I've not heard of it... but at least it wasn't 50 shades of gray. LOL

Re: BC
Hah! I wondered if anyone would ask that question. It was "Billy Jack." I had read it. There was nothing objectionable in it and she was interested in our Native population. Contraband book, but okay by me.

Re: FSI
You are correct. And while she was at it, she might have mentioned to my daughter, that while she appreciated the child's eagerness to read, she should not to do that again. lol.

Re: BC-A
Thank goodness they don't do that now. They send them to the library store to sell them.

Re: C_C_T
Training cannot help a person who is not able to maintain a professional demeanor. Her mental state at that time was not healthy enough to be functioning in a classroom setting. Thanks, CC. This was not the only incident with that teacher.

Re: Pat
Yes, it was good riddance! She was not mentally equipped to function as a teacher. This incident happend many decades ago. And yes, my daughter did to finish the book.

Talk about an overreaction from the teacher. The teacher should have just taken the book while your daughter was away, given her the book when she returned, told her to keep it home and let that be that.

I remember when a librarian discarded many classic books. In our schools, the bookmobile came around, and we subscribed to the Arrow Book Club of Scholastic.

A rather naive teacher. She needed a bit of extra teaching training.
I am afraid when we were reading in turns out loud I used to read ahead and sometimes couldn't answer the questions posed by the teacher.

Shocking!
Good riddance to that teacher... Apparently she didn't realize that teachers create the world through the children, or that such a "sacrilege" could have a long-lasting effect. I hope someone (hint, hint) arranges for your daughter to get another copy of that book so she can finish reading it.
