I feel that the hospitals and doctors leave more ownance on the patient. And for those who don't understand, they are at a severe disadvantage. Especially the elderly. Thank goodness Wiley has you for an advocate. So many are left on their own.
I have never understood why a patient must have their entire medication list at their fingertips -- to avoid being given conflicting meds --- when it's all in the computer! You HAVE my history... why do I have to recite it for you? Why should we have to read the fine print? Don't take this medication if you're on etc etc... why did you prescribe it then?? You're the doctor... you're supposed to know and advise the patient on what they can or cannot take. It's so backwards. In no other field can you claim such ignorance.

That is terrible how that person was going to eat lunch before faxing the information. It seems like service everywhere is going downhill these days.

It is a sad really, I suppose the true nurses of yesterday were dedicated. It appears that we have more foreign ones than home bred. Poor Wiley just as he was recovering, it is very worrying for you as well.

So sorry Wiley still has problems. And yeah - the bureaucracy...But faxing??? I thought that went out, oh, about 15 years ago, but not in Pembroke, I guess...

Pat's right. Plus, why don't they have records digitized into a universal system? And, faxing? Lots of places just take a pic of the records/document and text it or email it from their smart phone. I'm sorry you and Wiley have to go through all that. And yes, they have cut back on RNs, I'm sad to say, and sadder to see. Peace, dear friend.

If you weren't already well on the road to being 'round the bend,
dealing with the medical bureaucrats would take you there. Talk about kicking somebody when they're down. Yikes.
