I had nice, wavy, blond hair for long time...And then one day Giovanni, my great Italian barber, said he felt guilty charging me for cutting my hairs! I really was a nice guy, and I felt bad for making him feel guilty - so I started shaving them...

No one can ever believe that I was blonde until I was 5 years old... but I have photos to prove it. When I turned 5, my hair changed to medium/dark brown... and has been brown ever since. It's also always been very wavy and thick... so thick that if I go to sleep with it wet, I wake up and it's still damp.

My hair was different colors at different stages of my life. Now, Im just trying to hold on to any color at all!

Twice in a week, people I didn't know--well, one I've seen around, but didn't actually ever speak with him--came up to me and complimented my hair! As a person who feels generally unseen this was both startling and gratifying!

My mother continues to dye her hair brown. She says that she will continue to do so until she takes her final breath.

As I said, I'll bet your hair is, and has always been, gorgeous. One cousin of mine told me her curly hair is now straight. My sis has good hair also So I could relate to your post very well. And I love the pictures you posted.

Your story about hair reminds me of a call I got at The Center
on Tuesday that left me giggling to myself from time to time. A regular rider cancelled her pickup to play bingo, she said she had a beauty salon appointment, she's getting her hair frosted. Then she added that she's 94 years old. I know I had assumed that Mother Nature would have already frosted her hair, but you never know...
