Love this blog and reading about all kinds of situations with different people. Your dad was kind to pay Ellen while she was off work even though he wasn't required to. That really touched me.

This is a great episode in the continuing saga or soap opera of The Car Wash Life. Much better than the soap operas on TV, because it is true, and brought to us by you, who I respect greatly. I hope that Ellen has learnt to better match her deeds to her words..... as we all should learn. Do what you say, and say what you do. Cheers

Being a mom is a 24/7 job with no days off, and new mom gets little sleep. To work outside the home at one job has got to be so hard, and with two jobs, unbelievable! It was nice your Dad paid her leave time. Sounds like she really needed the money.
