We are in the midst of a heat wave right now. It has been a fairly hot summer thus far. Overall, our winter was warmer than spring.
I have a feeling that you have gotten the last word in on Mr. Wren.

Well Kabu it was so chilly a night ago I filled a hot water bottle. I expect it was the reaction after sleeping on the tiles. I only have to stick a spade in the ground and the black birds are there looking for a juicy morsel.

we've been having strange weather too... massive storms that pop up from nowhere every evening but they don't last long... reminds me of tropical weather. But it's not that hot. Very strange.

I think from their lifelong observations, local birds can recognize
non-aggressive humans who don't particularly want to eat them. Crows are especially good at remembering faces and regulars. I think perhaps he just wanted you to acknowledge his amazing ability to project his operatic skills... Or not.
