A nice bit of nostalgia, some how I think that you are only remembering the good times.
That is good really, we all could carry a load of misery forward if we wished to do so.
No I think you have sorted it out perfectly. Oh! dear now you have made me think of my bad times, never mind I'll listen to the rain beating against the window and think how lucky I am to be in the warm with the central heating on in June.
