It seems to me the weather is unusually changeable this year,
with things happening just a little before or after they usually do - late snows, early heat waves, extreme storms and heavy rains. It's amazing that the flowers - the perennials - seem to come along as they should in spite of it.

Sounds nice in spite of the weather. Much better than spending the afternoon looking at faucets for the kitchen, none of which seem to be "just right," and then coming home to discover the one you picked was wrong. Your flowers sound beautiful. Soon I may be getting some also. Glad you and Wiley had a nice day.
