lady used to bring me blankets straight from the mill Merino wool she always said one was as thick as two together. These go to the Indians in America she told me colored stripes etc. Never wear out. My brother has some 50 years old. I suppose it became too expensive to compete with the stuff used now. It was awful some nights coming home late through a low lying village the blankets were in sheds being fumigated with sulphur.

I bet it would not be allowed now.

Using wool for warmth is a brilliant technological innovation. It does a great job of keeping the warmth.

Kabu

Oh, I that was so interesting to read your post and lear about Merino wool. Fascinating. And yes, it is wonderful. Thank you for sharing your memories also.

About the asparagus, it brought back memories for me of learning to cook different things when I was very young! Dare I say back in the day of "fried" everything, I didn't know how to cook fried potatoes?
