Re: Re: CCT
He kept all his family secrets a secret from me until after we were married, then they gradually krept out into the open. I never dreamed that it might be necessary to study his family history beforehand.

Yes I agree FS. Too much on body and not enough on character.

Re:shobana
Well really a daughter could look prettier than her mother in her father's eyes.
I suppose it depends on the father. Anyone with imagination would know that Mum was special

Re:
Perhaps you should have studied his parents Taps. Once a lady said to me you can go out with my daughter if you want to. She became a bit sarky when I mumbled something incoherent. I thought to myself at the time I think one should like the mother a little,

With so many body image issues in the news these days, this poem is very fitting for the current time period.

I think mothers and daughters are special enough and the most asked question by a daughter to a dad is if she is as pretty as mom. The outer beauty however attracts and is made all the more beautiful if the inner beauty shines through too. A very nice poem CC.

I was naive enough to think when I married that my husband would respond to me the way my Dad responded to my Mother.

To me, there is no outward beauty without beauty within, but when there is beauty within, outward beauty can become irrelevant. That's what mother's should teach their daughters, IMHO. Nice poem though. You are quite creative and a good story-teller.

Some men do not know the treasure they have gained? (Jesus taught that!)
But CC, as to the poem, - i agree with FSI, you are a great writer-story-baker! Correct me: one kind of beauty can be hidden, controlled, manipulated. The other kind, I have seen in men & women, rises slow with the glow of sunrises. Amen to that - whatever the Source - for it makes me write (& writhe, LOL!) shalomShalom
