Hearing problems are the cause of many misunderstandings..:)
During a doctor's visit, my Grandmother, may the great lady rest in peace, misheard the word angina (pronounced by the doctor in long vowel sound) and got a bit testy, telling him she didn't discuss that with a man, no matter who he was, lol...
Very glad the younger man is okay!

That does seem to happen a fair amount with one person stating that one or someone one knows has a disease and another person giving the gloom and doom forecast without thinking that 1) There are definite variants within the same disease, 2) Different people's bodies and minds respond differently to the same disease and 3) Modern medicine continues to improve.
I am glad that things were able to get worked out to where everything became cool between them.

Great they laughed together, corrected the young man re. hearing issues, &
still lay around the bed, hand in hand (Like you & Wiley. Hug him & say I asked after his health & happiness. May Jesus always walk closely with His son JW).

A nice one, I only wonder what would happen if my hearing too gets that bad. In fac, after an accident it went so, but repaired thankfully by a doctor.

Happy that it turned out so he is going to okay. That's an interesting story there, dear Kabu.

Um, um, Sounds just like some people I know. A lovely story though. So nice to hear true stories. I remember, no you don't want to hear that. Glad you both are perky again.

It's good news the young man is going to be okay...
So many weird conversations stem from poor hearing or loud distractions in a crowded room. All's well than ends well.
