How divided we are at heart :(though it beats universally at the same rhythm and pace for all who have one.....

What an ill-mannered person and I would have done the same thing myself. Don't take any nonsense from anyone and you know I want to add that just as what she thinks of you, you in turn can have the same sentiment...but then why stoop so low.

Racism....how truly sad it still exists.  It's a shame others didn't follow suit and put down their items and leave as well

what a shame that there is still hatred in human hearts for others for no reason, and so many stand by and watch it an do nothing and by doing nothing show their approval, I would hope I would have walked out with you, by this you will know that you are my disciples, that you have love one for another, this is what God's word says, may God bless you and yours

Re:

Does indeed help, Dear Kabu, thank you. Wow, another outrageous incident of racism; so maddening. Good for you for speaking and standing up!

Re:

Thank you, C C T.  So sad that it does still exist. Good point about becoming brainwashed over time.

would it help the pain if I promised you that I would have walked out with you. Well I would have cos I have done  in the past when I was travelling. I was with a Chinese couple in Italy. We travelled together, me as a guide to them cos they didn't know what to see and they were my safety. Mutual help and we had such fun. Anyway, the hotel told them to get out of their room but I could stay in mine. I said no we all leave and YOU find us another hotel, same standard same price AND you take our luggage for us. People just have to speak up for each other.

How awful Kat, You did the right thing of course. It just shows how prejudice still exists even today. Possibly those already denied common courtesy have been brainwashed into thinking this is normal.

Kayray2

OMG! This is outrageous! I am so sorry you had to experience this. I could do an entire post on it. When I was 12... Well, another day. Someone, part Native, very close to me experienced that exact racial discrimination at about the time I was wearing cut-offs and going bra-less in those days, and enjoying it! He was pulled over in Beverly Hills, didn't look the part, didn't drive the part - then, and was working there. It is humiliating, and uncalled for. We, whose minds don't flow in that fashion, find it despicable. Not right. We all work to make things right now.
