FSI: I agree with your loyal readers: parenting is not a science.We do what
we do in loving concern, to sheild our kids from the bad things/seemier side of life. You had maturity to handle it ...2008-09 was a horrible time. Even good companies could NOT get loans. A Dad feels so much when his breadwinning is at stake; his very manhood and raison d'etre was called into question. For men, it rarely changes in times of financial stress, especially (In my century, I'd work the land harder!) shalom, shalom - thanks for everything. You r dear to your family and to Jesus!

I agree with Wiley. Parents do what is best, or what they try to do is what they think is best for their children. It's all good now!

Probably was a good choice made by your parents..
As a mother, I would want to shield/protect my child if he or she were having problems and needed to focus on themselves and regaining their strength, be it emotional or otherwise.

Too much stress back then would have distressed you way too much. I good decision by your Dad and there are tings my parents decided re the farm all those years ago that I of course now will never really understand.
