BEAR ALERT YELLOWSTONE NAT.PARK !!!

After several deadly bear attacks, mostly by Grizzlies, the Park ranger called all the hikers together and issued us bear spray and ribbons with bells tied to them.  The bells helped scare off the bears. He then proceded to tell us how to watch for bear spoor, scat(poop). The brown bear scat will include bones from small rodents mixed with vegetation and twigs. The black bear scat will be mostly all berries and vegetation. The grizzly scat will be almost all bones of mammals, fish, mixed with ribbons and bells....

Research is fun if the subject interests one; Kudos, Dear Kabu!

The babies of most any species are adorable but as you rightly remind, wild animals are called wild for a reason. Love the cute pictures and looking forward to reading more..

I like little bears, Big black bears look grumpy. Good luck with your research though.

Tip, I think bears like honey.

One cannot pay me enough money to stand next to a bear. When I went to the circus as a kid, I worried about the lions acting like, well, lions.

Also, find speciality websites love. And, could you get access to a college library or make an appointment with a zoology or biology professor love?

There's a lot about bears in our culture...Sayings:

Grouchy as a bear with a sore foot, hungry as a bear. I used to get a kick out of videos of bears scratching their backs against a tree. In fact now that you've got me started I think I'll blog a bit on this subject....  This is fascinating, Kabu!

But so satisfying ...I find new things in documents all the time! Love the pics too, Blogit Villager -par-excellence! See ya soon. Hi to Wiley, our Elder Statesman.

Yes so right there Kabu - it is definitely a must to research the subject of what's written by writers and I loved the pictures.

Researching is a wonderful part of learning and sharing.  Just today I researched katabatic wind because Son #1 asked me what that is and I didn't know.  Then a bit later he asked me to find and play on the internet some Shakuhachi music because neither of us could remember what it might sound like.  Seldom do either of us let something go by without finding out what it is.

Kabu

I get lost in the Google pictures, too! My goodness, is that a bear with a family on a porch? Nice to read your post, dear Kabu!
