Re:

I hope not, Taps, but it has certainly become strained.

Re:

I thought about it BC-A, but in the end it's not a big deal... I just wanted a replacement so have sorted it and it cost very little, so it's no use falling out over a little thing when there are bigger issues to consider.

Re:

Thanks RPresta - I thought it was an attempt at manipulation too.  She is a lovely person, but ultra-focused on her family and their needs.  I don't seem to come into it any more.

Re: Re: Re: mneme

No problem CCT - there is already a downstairs loo right next to the room I would be converting for her so a shower in that room is do-able - always assuming she would consent to moving...!

Re: Re: mneme

Having looked after my mother I think a toilet and shower would be wiser. She will probably sleep downstairs eventually, just thoughts.

Sounds like this could become of case of a bit of manipulation on her part. It's best that it end now, as well as later, perhaps. Just a thought.

It sounds as if the friendship is waning.

Good for you for standing up for yourself. Of course it is easier for us to  give armchair advice when we are not there to back you physically. anyway I agree with your lodger, the house thing has run its course and yes you need the house back. Good buy and goodluck in your Caravan is what I say.

Re:

Ps (to CCT) - I don't know that I am becoming tougher ! My legs were shaking throughout the whole conversation, lol.

Re:

CCT, you're a mind reader! I am considering putting in a downstairs shower room for mum and converting my study to a bedroom ... failing that, a stair lift (although a shower would be more useful). xx

Things are never dull when people are around.

Well I does seem that you are becoming a bit tougher, you will not be able to keep visiting your Mother especially if she becomes poorly. If you do intend to care for her,you will need your own house. One has to be realistic at times. Anyway it is a good excuse for wanting your house back as you may have to do interior work to accommodate an older person.
