Very nice, CCT - and lots of comments here about poetry... I'm saying nothing for now, except that the one poem someone wrote me was pretty dire! haha.

Re: Lanetay

Well I don't know if I like it, but it is no different than telling a child a story.

Re: Kabu

Well Arthur is 15 years younger than I am so he is just crusty at present. I wonder you do not grow a few Dahlias you would have to take the roots up and store them. I am thinking of just chancing leaving them in, it is a lot of work digging them up each autumn.

I didnt know men even liked poetry and would not thought one would like a womans poetry.  I have fun writing sometimes but its hard sometimes to do so

Re: Pat

I must confess that I never read poetry other than on here as I am inclined to copy ideas  and that does not seem right in a way. Well I have Dylan Thomas and a few classics that is all. If the dear lady can sell her work she is talented indeed.

Re: C_C_T

Goodness one learns things every day RP. Wise to stay away from those who use flowery language I would imagine. Hope you are better.

Re: Ciel

Thank you Ciel you are so reassuring ,I suppose if one cannot remember writing the poem it is doubtful if any one else will remember. Was the man captivated by the poem.

I just thought a woman did send me a poem occasionally, but I did not take much notice as we were sort of swapping ideas, she was also a bit bossy.

Another lovely flower, another wistful poem...

Giving a poem to a woman is a bit like offering the gift of a pretty ring: while it may be with casual intent, she is almost surely going to read more into it. I've written a lot of poems about men some of whom know it--one was quite awed that anyone had written him a poem, as if it was a gift of immortality. I suppose it is, of a kind, as long as the poem makes it through time.

An apology is never needed for reposting, in my opinion: it is a pleasure to revisit something enjoyed before, and as most readers here never scroll back into past posts, it seem entirely legit to repost things now and then.

I wonder how many male poets chose to share their poems with a woman they were or are attracted to...One can feel the inner tension.

The flower if sooo pretty. And the poem even prettier! I don't know who likes poets. I would imagine some men may favor a woman who writes a bit of poetry because doing so keeps her quiet for a while! LOL!

Avoidance can hurt more than it helps. That's the scream. Beautiful flower, and I second Kabu's comment.

How kind to think of fixing up a computer for your friend - I

think it's wise to be that way. I wonder if you've read the poet Mary Oliver? She's one of the very few who sells her work regularly. She's famous, writes lyrical stuff about nature and mystery...

that flower is achingly beautiful.

You and Arthur really do have the kindest of hearts. I think that you just pretend to be crusty old men.
