I know Pat I still keep a little hat of my mothers and it is only because i said to her, 'what are you wearing that silly little hat for?' My penance I suppose.

I suppose so FS usually they are pleased to see it happen. Well at least as long as they have not got to put a deposit down on a house for the happy couple.

Re: TAPS
Your Dad didn't like to see someone carry off his daughter no doubt, perhaps mum thought he would make more fuss of her, Try to remove the old blooms once the plants go to seed they close up the shop.

I love the poem. Reminds me of when I was dating the fellow I married and my parents responses. Beautiful flower. The hummingbirds here are still visiting my petunias which look like they are on their last leg. I haven't been getting out there to pinch off the wilted blooms so new ones will continue to bloom.

A little tense there, I see...The conflict in advice from Mom and Dad makes for a powerful inner conflict.

the flower is beautiful. I look at all my lovely collectables and Wileys treasures . We have blended our lives together in an orderly disorder thay suits us both. In a few years i wonder what will happen!

Beautiful flowers. Your discussion of the boot sale reminds me how it
is when one's time on earth begins to wind down. If we don't take it upon ourselves to sort and pitch and winnow down to the things we really use frequently, it won't be long until "the kids" have to take on the job. I remember when they took Mom's house apart when she became a permanent resident of the nursing home - and the questions asked. "what the heck did she keep this for?"
