Those were the idyllic days. I wonder what happened to the farm. I suppose good land is valuable, but one has to live in the present it was a hard life in those days.

We swam in Mill Creek, ice cold water... The beach looks so much
nicer... I, too, remember hot muggy nights, 90 degrees with no A/C. Then yesterday I enjoyed a fine misty rain and feeling a bit chilled in mid-August. Celebrate each day.

It sounds like a very great place to swim at. There are some fun places in the Chesapeake Bay to swim at.

You look so cute in your 'happy hat'. Just imagine the opposite, I grew up in a desert, never saw the ocean until around I was seventeen. Aww

Such a sweet picture! How much fun you are having in your hat at the beach! What a nice childhood. No air conditioning. Oh, that was tough. Great post.

We never lived near a swimming beach. Mother would fill a galvanized tub with water in the back yard and give us tin cups to dip and throw water on each other. Needless to say, I didn't learn to swim until high school where they had a great indoor swimming pool.
